Recalculating: When Plans Change
What happens when the future we envisioned doesn’t come to pass. We all had high hopes for 2020 but some of us have had to change our plans. God had other things in mind. When things go terribly bad, how can we trust God? Let’s take a deep dive into what it means to make plans, how we should follow God’s plans for us, and whether or not those can be aligned together.

Race and racism has risen to the top of the social agenda again. Many passionate voices are raised up. As Christians we seek God’s voice. The Bible is our authoritative revelation of God’s will. Let’s hear what scripture may tell us about race and racism.
Let’s find out how important a Jewish prayer called the Shema is for us today. The prayer comes from Deuteronomy 6:4-9 where the Bible says, “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.
